Dr.Watson
I believe every person deserves to live their best life, that’s why I become a psychologist. As a second-generation Afro-Caribbean American, I have lived and traveled to over two dozen countries. I enjoy working with a wide variety of patients spanning ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Through the use of cognitive-behavioral therapy and culturally-competent interventions, I educate clients by assisting them in realizing the power within themselves to make choices with confidence. I earned my Doctorate of Psychology from New York University, and completed internships at Howard University, rotating between Howard’s Counseling Services and Hospital, and the District of Columbia Superior Court’s Child Guidance Clinic. Additionally, I completed clinical externships in various inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities in the Washington D.C. area. I now have over 25 years of professional experience as an educator, entrepreneur, and therapist.
Prior to graduate school, I co-founded Achieva College Prep, a company that provided college prep services to multicultural high school students from around the country. Present day, I have the privilege of helping adolescents thrive through the counseling services I offer. My clients range in age from 13 to 88. They are strong, smart, and successful. I am licensed to work in Washington D.C. and Virginia.
